MARY MARTHA GUILD – Because of the example provided for us by Mary who learned at the feet of Jesus and by Martha who demonstrated her faith by her everyday works, the Mary Martha Guild has been organized to encourage the women of Christ Lutheran Church to grow in faith and to serve God.

Membership is open to any woman holding communicant membership in Christ Lutheran Church.

Funds are secured through "Free Will Offerings", and public fund raising projects held periodically throughout the year. At the end of the year, funds are distributed as the guild chooses. Mary Martha meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

LWML - The Florida-Georgia District of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League was formed in 1948. With a membership of about 200,000 they are the official women’s auxiliary of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. For the past 60 years, the LWML has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global mission projects.

The Mission of the Florida-Georgia District LWML is to share the love of Christ with women of all ages and diversities and to foster a recognition that the mission field exists both at home and abroad.

The MOTORCYCLE GANG
– Our "gang" is open to all riders who want to explore the Hernando County countryside. After riding and sightseeing, participants partake of a meal at a local restaurant. You do not have to ride a bike in order to enjoy the fun. The Motorcycle Gang meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month. These photos were taken on our first ride.

Our Christ Lutheran Pinochle group meets the first Friday of each month in the fellowship hall.  Everyone is welcome, from beginner to ???.  (Many of us fall in the beginner category)  The games begin promptly at 7 PM and the last hand is started before 9:00. Come and bring a friend.  Questions?  Call Carol Huntwork at (352)382-7332.

GOOD SAMARITANS  --  We are a group of members from the church who would like to help our brothers and sisters at Christ Lutheran care for their loved ones, when this help is needed.
We can provide transportation for persons to an appointment or other trips that are needed for those who are alone  and ill or need assistance.   Please call the church office at 796-8331 if you have any questions or would like a member to serve you.

’49ERS ORGANIZATION

The ‘49ers organization was formed in September, 1982 as the Christ Lutheran Senior’s Club and have been meeting since that time with a potluck supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by entertainment of some sort, then a short business meeting which includes literary gems (jokes and stories to share).

The dues are $1.00 per person, payable only if you are attending the meeting.  This offsets the cost of coffee, punch and other expenses.  First time visitors/guests are free.  If children 12 and under accompany an adult, there is no charge for them.

Everyone age 49 and over is welcome to join us the third Friday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Christ Lutheran Church fellowship hall.

HAND BELL CHOIR

Our Church is proud of its five-octave Hand bell Choir which meets for rehearsal every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm (except in summer).  The hand bells are used to enhance the worship service about once a month, and are also occasionally used in conjunction with an anthem presented by the adult choir.  We currently have a vacancy in the hand bell choir, so if you have an interest in playing hand bells, please contact the Minister of Music.  No prior experience is necessary, we will teach you how to play.
